What if I told you a strong “push plan” during birth…has almost nothing to do with actual pushing?

Most people think “pushing” means holding your breath, using all the strength of your abs and pelvic floor, and pushing hard as someone counts down from 10.

And then doing it again.

And again.

And again.

But here’s the truth that most people aren’t talking about 👇

💡 Less forceful pushing during your birth…

means more ease and protection for your vagina and pelvic floor.

✨ Which also means a smoother birth and a kinder recovery.

So what actually makes pushing easier, faster, and less damaging to your body?

Here’s what I teach hundreds of people inside my Pelvic Floor Protection Plan, and what I want to share with you for free today.

✅ 1. It starts with baby's position.

➡️ When baby is in a great position before and during labor, everything tends to go more efficiently.

➡️ And the more efficient things are… the less force your body needs to get the job done.

✅ 2. Mobility = Space = Less Force Needed

Your hips, pelvis, spine, and tailbone are all part of one beautifully interconnected system.

If even one of those areas is stiff or restricted, your baby may have a harder time moving down and out.

➡️ Birth is not about “strength.” It’s about space.
When your body moves well, your baby has more room to move, too.

✅ 3. Your pelvic floor’s job? Yield, not push.

This surprises almost everyone I work with.

The pelvic floor doesn’t push the baby out.

Its job is to get out of the way.

➡️ When it’s prepared to yield (not clench), it allows baby to move through with less resistance, meaning less risk of tearing, prolapse, leakage, or lingering pain.

✅ 4. Know where baby is, not just how dilated you are.

We often think (or are told) that 10 cm of dilation = go time.

But if baby isn’t low enough yet in the pelvis, early pushing can backfire.

➡️ Knowing how to recognize where your baby is in the pelvis helps you time things better. (And if you have an epidural, this is especially helpful so you can advocate for laboring down before pushing!)

*There are risks & benefits to laboring down with an epidural. Please do more research!

✅ 5. Create more space at the pelvic outlet.

This is the literal exit door.

Some positions make this opening wider. Other positions actually close it.

➡️ Yes, even if you're on your back with an epidural, you can still create more room by adjusting your pelvis, knees, and arms. Small shifts here make a big difference.

✅ 6. Use gravity to your advantage.

Lying flat can make your body work against gravity.

➡️ Whether you’re side-lying, kneeling, sitting upright, or using a birth bar, letting gravity help you can make pushing faster and less intense.

✅ 7. Activate your “chill mode” switch

Pushing often starts in a moment of adrenaline. But that “fight or flight” mode actually slows down labor.

What speeds it up?

Tapping into your parasympathetic nervous system, your body’s “calm & safe” state.

➡️ Soothing your nervous system during labor isn’t just for comfort. It’s a physiological tool to help birth happen with more ease.

✨ You don’t need to learn to "push like a pro.”

You need to prepare your body and understand the small but powerful strategies that make forceful pushing less necessary.

And that’s exactly what I teach inside the Pelvic Floor Protection Plan, a step-by-step course for anyone who wants a smoother birth and a happier postpartum pelvic floor.

You’ll learn exactly how to prep now and what to do during birth, whether it’s your first or your fourth.

These things aren't as helpful as we're told:

❌ Pushing practice (without pelvic prep)

❌ Perineal massage (it's painful!)

❌ Warm compresses (not enough on its own)

 What actually protects you:

✔️ Exercises that open your pelvis

✔️ Training your pelvic floor to release

✔️ Pushing with ease, not force

✔️ Creating more space at baby's exit

✔️ Avoiding outdated hospital practices
